Atherton Home Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright Listed for $7 Million: Photos

A a few-bedroom Frank Lloyd Wright house in Atherton, California, is on the sector for $7 million.

The household is recognised as the Mathews Property. It was named after its unique house owners, Arthur and Judith Mathews, who commissioned it in 1950, per the home’s Countrywide Sign up of Historic Places software. 

This is the 2nd time the dwelling has been set up for sale since it was built in 1952. It was listed in May for $8 million but was reduced to $7 million a month later on, listing information clearly show. The existing homeowners bought the residence in 1969 for $75,000. 

The household is 1 of three Wright-made residential qualities now on the market. The other people are the Cooke Home in Virginia and the Lykes Household in Arizona, per the Frank Lloyd Wright Creating Conservancy.

“Wright made in excess of 1,000 designs and about half of them were built,” Barbara Gordon, the executive director of the conservancy, told Insider. She included that around 380 properties of his are left, like around 250 non-public residences.

“The ideal buyer of this home is a modernist who wants to preserve mid-century present day architecture,” listing agent Monique Anton with Modern Households Realty explained to Insider.
