Neighbors react to Indiana funeral home investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – 31 bodies and the cremation stays from 16 folks were being discovered and removed from the the Lankford Funeral Household in Jeffersonville Friday night.

Jeffersonville law enforcement states some of the bodies were being in the funeral household considering the fact that March and were in the progress levels of decomposition. The smell coming from the building was so undesirable that a person referred to as law enforcement, and which is what started off the investigation.

Kenny Kersey suggests his household has been in the funeral business enterprise for a long time. When Lankford Funeral House was to start with acquired by owner Randy Lankford, Kersey states Lankford gave him a tour.

Rickey Stroud and Tei Pelli dwell following door to the Lankford. They say they had been surprised that a little something like this would happen in their backyard.

When advised them an odor is what got almost everything began, they were amazed.

“I did not odor anything at all. And I grew up in entrance of a cemetery,” Pelli claimed.

To Kersey and the neighbors, absolutely everyone at Lankford appeared to be nice people. Pelli states when she would see bodies appear in, they were being cared for.

The bodies have been sent to the Clark County Coroner’s business office to be determined and their people will be contacted.
