Take a look inside this 4-bedroom Dallas house with a design suited for cooking and entertaining

Louetta R. Clark

This Dallas home was built for entertaining. The contemporary home is full of natural light, has large, open living spaces and a unique kitchen design that will catch the eye of those who love to host.

Designer, builder and homeowner Aaron Angle said he designed the home to be a place where it was easy to host and entertain. The space is big enough to accommodate a large group but comfortable enough for a small crowd or family without feeling like it is an empty space, he said.

“It always feels very comfortable,” Angle said.

The home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and one half-bathroom in its 4,017 square feet. It was completed in 2018.

The main living area has a fireplace on one end, ample room for seating, and is open to the kitchen and dining room. A long wall of windows runs along one side of the space and offers a view of the patio and back yard.

One of Angle’s intentional design features was the kitchen layout, which offers both the main kitchen (the space open to the main living room) and a catering kitchen where messes can be made but kept out of sight. The main kitchen has a sink, oven, gas range, range hood, refrigerator and dishwasher, plus cabinet storage and counter space for preparing or serving food. The catering kitchen, which sits just behind a wall, also has a refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, two ovens and a microwave. The catering kitchen offers extra storage and countertop space as well.

All of the bedrooms are on the second floor of the home. The primary suite has a vaulted ceiling, heated floors in the bathroom and a walk-in closet. The laundry room on the second level has room for two washers and dryers. The home also has an elevator for easy access between the two floors.

Outside, the home has a covered patio with a fireplace and an outdoor cooking area. The pool sits just off of the patio and is heated. The home also has a four-car garage.

3353 Latham Drive is listed for $1,189,000 by Amy Detwiler of Compass. The home is currently under contract.
